Notes

Citizen of London, granted a licence to export wheat from Sandwich to Bordeaux in 1374. Lyons was a member of the vintners company, an alderman for Broad Street Ward in 1374, and later one of the sheriffs of London. He was also warden of the Mint, and had a very poor reputation for corruption and in money lending. Singled out with Lord Latimer in the Good Parliament, he was only restored under the auspices of John of Gaunt. He was beheaded by the rebels in the Peasants Revolt in 1381.
