21 June 1328. Shotley. For crenellating a house.
Licence granted to Bernat d’Alian that he or his heirs are able to build in stone or wood and crenellate a maison-forte or fortalice in Créon, and once built to hold the same to him and his heirs without any impediment of the king, his heirs and their ministers. This is providing that the house or fortalice should be returned to the king or his heirs at the order of the king, his heirs or their seneschals, in times of war or peace.
