Notes

He was rector of Stoke-on-Trent between 1363 and 1369, the advowson of which belonged to Gaunt. He became Gaunt's treasurer for the 1370 campaign. The younger, clerk, going to Aquitaine in the king's service, and staying there in the company of John of Gaunt in 1370 and 1371.
