Notes

On the death of other brothers and his nephew, he became the 10th earl of Oxford in 1393, succeeding Robert de Vere, Richard II's favourite. He became Lord Chamberlain, his family having held the title by inheritance. By 1381, a chamberlain of the royal household, and granted lands of lord Albret in Bordeaux and the Medoc. Kt, going to Aquitaine, and staying there in the company of Edward of Woodstock in 1366, and again in 1367 and 1368.
