Notes

It is uncertain whether Kaylar is Gascon or English. The surname as it stands spelled with a 'K' is not Gascon, but that might just be the clerk's construction. In addition, Kaylar appears in an entry alongside two other Bordeaux merchants, one of whom is certainly of English origin. Merchant of Bordeaux, shipping corn from Southampton to Bordeaux in 1361, and complaining of a barge and cargo lost to Breton pirates of the allegiance of Charles of Blois in the same year.
